A Rain-Kissed Elopement in Romantic Ronda

As an elopement celebrant and organizer in Spain, I get to witness love stories unfold in the most magical places. And few places rival the romance of Ronda with its dramatic gorge, cobbled streets, and timeless charm. H and M’s elopement here was the perfect reminder that even a little rain can’t dampen the joy of such a heartfelt day.

Me and my elopement crew, Pedro on photos, Alvaro on video and Antonio, the drone pilot went to find them at their cut Air bnb and from there the first photos were taken as we hatched our plan for the first look.

Getting ready for the first look

The first look in Ronda old town

We began in the old town, where Helena and Marco shared a “first look” that stopped me in my tracks. It was one of those moments where time seemed to pause, just the two of them, surrounded by centuries of history, soaking in the excitement of the day ahead. It was so lovely for M to see H in her amazing wedding attire for the first time after they'd been careful all morning to not see each other by getting reading separately and then walking through the town to reach the first look location, all without seeing one another. It was worth it!

Intimate ceremony with hand-fasting

We had been lucky all morning and the rain had managed to hold off. But when it came to their ceremony our luck had run out. But the light sprinkling of rain actually  just added to the whole atmosphere and it felt really ethereal. With Ronda’s stunning scenery as our backdrop, the ceremony was a total reflection of who H and M are as a couple. We wove together their unique love story and M's creative proposal which included poetry and a puzzle! It was emotional, funny, and so true to them.

The ceremony included a handfasting ritual, a symbolic tying of hands to represent the solid bond between them. From there, we moved seamlessly into vows and rings. Despite the drizzle, there were smiles, laughter, and even a few happy tears.

Photo shoot around Ronda

Afterwards, we wandered through Ronda’s old town for their photo shoot, capturing the spirit of the city and the glow of two newlyweds walking hand in hand. From the Puente Nuevo bridge to quiet corners of the old streets, every shot reflected the beauty of their love and the adventure they had chosen for their wedding day. And if the day, the location and this awesome couple weren't cool enough, we even got to see a stunning peacock roaming the streets, as though it had come out just for us, knowing it was a special occasion for H&M.

H and M’s Ronda elopement is proof that weddings don’t need to be grand to be unforgettable. Sometimes, it’s just two people, a little rain, a lot of love, and a city as timeless as Ronda to make the perfect day.

Is Ronda the most magical place ever for a Spanish elopement? Can you picture you and your soulmate getting hitched just like this? If it's a hell yes, make sure to get in touch with us using the contact from below. We can't wait to hear from you!
