  • Romantic Wedding Ceremony at Casa de la Era, Spain | Rachael & Ricky

If ever there was a day that brought together all the love, laughs, and sunshine, it was a gorgeous Saturday in June 2023 when Rachael and Ricky tied the knot in the most fabulous style at the stunning Casa de la Era in Marbella, Spain.

Guests had travelled from all over—from Ireland, the UK, and even as far as Australia—to be part of this epic day, and let me tell you, the atmosphere was absolutely buzzing. (Yes, even with the small distraction of the FA Cup final between Manchester United and Manchester City happening that same afternoon! I'll pretend I didn't see the one guest with his phone out!)

With Casa de la Era engulfed in sunshine and with the amazing sea views of the Costa del Sol, this intimate and joy-filled wedding ceremony was a true reflection of Rachael and Ricky—heartfelt, full of laughter, and shared with their favourite people from around the world.

Guests travelled in from Ireland, the UK, and even Australia to witness the start of their exciting new chapter, creating a gathering filled with love, support, and a lot of sunshine.

As their wedding celebrant, I had the absolute pleasure of welcoming everyone to Spain and reminding them just how special their presence was to the Ricky and Rachael. A wedding abroad isn’t just a beautiful setting—it’s a choice to make memories somewhere extraordinary, and Rachael and Ricky did just that.

Their ceremony was a celebration of their nearly eight years together, and everything they had built and become along the way. With sweet nods to their fur babies, and meaningful contributions from loved ones—including a gorgeous reading by Ricky’s niece, —the ceremony struck the perfect balance between heartfelt and fun.

One of the highlights was the hand-tying ritual, a symbolic and touching moment that reflected their deep connection and unity, quite literally tying the knot in front of their family and friends.

And of course, their vows were everything—funny, emotional, and uniquely them. They had opted to keep their hands bound during their question vows, a beautiful symbol of their bond, before untying to read their personal promises to one another. These were followed by an exchange of rings, sweetly delivered by Rachael’s little brothers.

We wrapped up the ceremony with a big kiss and an even bigger round of applause from all their loves ones and Rachael and Ricky headed back up the aisle, with the band setting the tone for the party ahead. And I can only imagine the party that they had, as they were such a fun crowd.

Their day at Casa de la Era was everything a destination wedding in Spain should be: relaxed, personal, filled with sunshine and surrounded by love. It was an honour to be part of it.
