Spain is without doubt fast emerging as one of the most popular wedding destinations in Europe, if not in the world. The advantages of its beautiful and diverse wedding venues and locations, good value for money and convenience in being able to speak in English with the vast majority of wedding suppliers, is helping to make Spain a sought after wedding destination.
I have been conducting wedding ceremonies in Spain, as a Humanist Wedding Celebrant since 2007 and I have personally witnessed the growth of this wonderful industry and I’m proud to say I am one of the longest serving celebrants on the Costa del Sol. I now consider many of the suppliers (wedding planners, hair and make-up artists, photographers, DJs, cake makers etc) that I work with, as true friends and it is a honour to work alongside them during weddings together. Top tips for a ceremony in Spain
I have learnt a few things since conducting wedding ceremonies in Spain, which I love to pass on to couples
 Research well and book early – to secure some of the popular venues and suppliers, you’l need to allow a year in advance (minimum). At the time of writing (summer 2014) I am getting enquiries and bookings for 2016!
Don’t try to do everything yourself, especially if you are having more than 25 people. You may be okay during the planning stages but on the day itself, you may need a hand. Here is a good feature I’ve written about what five things should have when getting married in Spain.
 Book with your heart, not with your head. If it doesn’t feel right, then it probably isn’t right for you.
